A teacher has died of COVID-19.
On Tuesday the teaching fraternity in the country experienced the most feared outcome of COVID-19, which is the death of one of their own.
The Mdzimba High School teacher who was confirmed to have the virus on July 10, passed away on Tuesday.
Boy Magagula (53) died while he was undergoing treatment at Lubombo Referral Hospital.
The teacher was admitted showing severe symptoms of COVID-19. It is stated that Magagula was driven to hospital by one of the teachers before he was confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 and was transferred to Lubombo Referral Hospital.
The teacher’s medical condition worsened while he was in the hospital. According to Tuesday’s COVID-19 update, the teacher is a 24th death of COVID-19 in the country.
The minister’s statement further reveals that the 53-year-old was under ventilator to aid him recover from the virus, but he failed.
